May We Give Our Hearts To The Lord!

The Lord made our hearts; they belong to Him!

Happy Lord’s Day!

Our Gospel Portion today is St. Matthew 22:15-21, and we will concentrate on,

“They said, ‘Caesar’s.’ Then He said to them, ‘Render therefore to Caesar the things that are Caesar’s, and to God the things that are God’s’.”
St. Matthew 22:21

We need government because people are at different levels of
moral/ethical development. Hence, we must help maintain it. This is often in paying taxes. This is part of our lives. However, to quote St. Augustine of Hippo, “Our Hearts are restless until they rest in Thee (the Lord).”

I often call our time a time of depression. I think this is because our hearts are restless. Here, I mean people inside and outside the Church or the Synagogue. In my deepest sadness and melancholy, and with a counselor (yes, in these times, a counselor needs a counselor), I continue to prosper. There is a prayer I use when things seem to be out of control, and I offer this prayer to you:

“Jesus, I surrender, please take care of everything!” This is taken from the Surrender Novena by Fr. Don Dolindo.

Jesus said to give to God what belongs to God. If we follow Him, a time of sadness and melancholy will not destroy us. When people treat us unfairly, we can get up, and the Lord will heal our pain!

Give to the Lord our hearts and receive healing and strength to do His Will!

Have a blessed Sunday!
