Jesus wants to give us sight!
Jesus loves us and wants the very best for us. He wants us to see clearly and this is what He can give to us. There is so much in the world that blinds us to reality! We read in St. Mark’s Gospel,
And Jesus said to him, “What do you want Me to do for you!” And the blind man said to Him, “Master, let me receive my sight.”
And, Jesus said to him, “Go your way; your faith has made you well.” Mark 10: 51-52
Bartimaeus was the blind person. He was a beggar and he heard Jesus was coming near. Jesus was his only hope for him to see and he reached out to Him. After he received the gift of sight, he followed Jesus.
There are things in our lives that blind us to truth. That truth is the Divine Love that we were created to share. But hate blinds us. When we realize that we are blind, then we can call out to Jesus and He will heal us! When we are healed by Jesus and we follow Him, the demon of hate cannot blind us again!
Hate is a terrible thing! We remember that God is Love (1 John 4:8). The cure for hate is Jesus! May we always call out to Him!
