Hold On To Jesus!

Jesus Will See You Through!

Jesus is so radical for some people that His message is avoided! Today we see in St. John’s Gospel that some of His disciples walked away from following Him!

May we never fall into the trap of placing our egos ahead of Our Lord!

St. Peter gives us the response that we must follow if we are true believers! We read in the Gospel of St. John,

Jesus said to the Twelve, “Will you also go away?”

Simon Peter answered Him, “Lord, to whom shall we go? You have the words of eternal life, and we have believed, and have come to know, that You are the Holy One of God.” John 6: 67-69

St. Peter, though he had faults, he was a truly a flawed individual, he is a wonderful example for us. He kept making mistakes but he kept coming back. The Pilar of the Church was a real person. His ego did cause him problems, but unlike Judas, his ego did not lead to permanent death!

Trust in Jesus regardless of what our feelings are and what our thoughts are.

Jesus is the Way, His Word and His example is what we need live in true peace!

Total Trust in Jesus!

May we say to ourselves and fashion our actions with this old yet useful phrase, “What would Jesus do in this situations?”.

Embrace The Cross!

Embrace Your True Self!

Jesus shows us the essential nature of carrying one’s cross. He did that by modeling this process with His own life. He tells us directly:

“If anyone comes after Me, let him deny himself and take up his cross and follow Me.”
Matthew 16:24

Jesus had to deny Himself as the world would see it, that is, to compromise with the world for self preservation, and embrace His true self by defying the world and all of it’s temporary pleasures. The cross is often difficult and painful, but it is embracing who we truly are and here we find peace.

The message of Jesus, the message of Divine Love, was a threat to those in authority in the culture that Jesus lived in. These individuals had compromised themselves to be comfortable. Jesus’ words and how He lived, contradicted their approach life. To Jesus everyone must be treated with love. This meant loving oneself and loving others as if we were loving ourselves! This message is key to Jesus’ Jewish tradition and He would not compromise it even if this meant dying for His true self!

Embracing one’s cross may lead to one’s Crucifixion!

To follow Jesus means for us to embrace the cross of following Him. Usually it means living a good Christian life, a life where Divine Love reigns, however, it also means being willing to die to be faithful to our true selves as Jesus’ disciples. No compromising Love of oneself and one another!

The saints, the holy ones, did this. St. Mother Teresa of Calcutta’ Feast is approaching in a few days. Mother Teresa had an inner call that called her out of the comfort of her convent school environment to the streets of India, not to convert those who she encountered, rather, she loved herself so much that she had to become Jesus to the poor of the street!

We all have our call! Wherever we are, let us embrace our cross as true disciples of Jesus and be Jesuslike wherever our mission is!

The Circle is Completing!

We Are Enclosed In Love!

“Behold, a virgin shall conceive and bear a son, and his name shall be called Emmanuel” (Which means, God with us). Matthew 1:23

Advent is coming to a close and it helps to see each week as part of a circle that culminates in Love. We are in the most important love affair of our lives, and this love, when we surrender to it, will be the source of how we live; the source of our Peace!

We celebrated Hope the First Sunday of Advent. We know Jesus is coming in a special way to our lives. Jesus is eternally the same, but each Christmas we are different!

We celebrate Faith the Second Sunday of Advent. Faith helps us to open ourselves to Jesus! We must prepare ourselves to receive Him!

We celebrate Joy the Third Sunday of Advent. The days of waiting are coming to an end! Excitement is rising in our hearts!

We celebrate Peace the Fourth Sunday in Advent. Jesus, Our Peace, will be experienced in a powerful way in a few days!

The result of these Four Sundays of Advent is Love!

Jesus is Love! As we come to these last days before the Great Feast of Christmas, may the act of Divine Love, Love joining us in the Babe in the Manger, lead us to a deeper love of God and all people.

We need Christmas! We need to be inundated in Love! May Love overflow in us and change the World!
