Call On The Holy Name!

Reach Out To Jesus!

The Storm Will Pass!

“Lord, save me!” Jesus immediately reached out his hand and caught him, O man of little faith, why did you doubt?”
Matthew 14: 30-31

The storms we have to deal with, our difficult situations, may cause us to drown in our anxieties, but they need not, because we have Jesus! Reaching out and holding on to Jesus, will save us!

Peter, the Disciple of Jesus, had faith. He knew that he could walk on water if Jesus gave him this grace. That worked, walking on water, as long as he keeps his eyes on Jesus. However, he brought his eyes on to the waging sea, feeling on his own, he started to sink.

When we had that sinking feeling, call on Jesus!

Peter models for us our reality! There will be storms, difficult situations in our lives, Peter called on Jesus and He held Peter up! The storm is real, but so is Jesus, and His power to save!

Two things are essential in rising out of the storms in our lives, and Peter models both. Peter had a relationship with Jesus, he was a disciple, that is the first point! The second is, when Peter was in trouble, he called on the
Holy Name of Jesus and Jesus lifted him up! Jesus will do the same for us! Some of us already have a testimony how the storm that was meant to destroy us, brought us into closer union with Jesus!

Call on Jesus and be saved!

Have a blessed Sunday!

Happy Feast of Ignatius of Loyola!

Today I would like to share with you a prayer that had kept me going when things seem impossible.

This prayer was made by Ignatius Loyola, the founder of the Society of Jesus (The Jesuits). A person who has had a great impact on our world.

I share this prayer that it may help your journey in this life and bring you greater joy and peace.

Pax, The Hermit of Peace.

Happy Feast of Elijah the Prophet!

One person who is faithful can change the World!

The Prophet Elijah kept the faith in YHWH alive and risk his own life to do it. His actions brought God’s People back to YHWH.

Today we celebrate the Feast of Elijah the Prophet and may we realize that our faithfulness to the Divine One can and will change our world!

We read in in Second Kings: As they were walking along and talking together, suddenly a chariot of fire appeared and separated the two of them, and Elijah went up to heaven in a whirlwind. Elisha saw this and cried out, “My father! My father! The chariots and horsemen os Israel!” And Elisha saw him no more. 2 Kings 2:11-12

Have an awesome Feast Day!

Good Soil Matters!

Be Good Soul!

“As for what was sown on good soil, this is he who heard the word and understands it; he indeed bears fruit , and yields, in one case a hundredfold, in another sixty, and in another thirty. “
Matthew 13:23

The use of parables by Jesus are so important, they speak to our hearts and we can hold on to them because we are challenged by them. What does our parable say about us today?

Are we Good Soil?

In the natural order, we have the ability to make soil good. We can keep it moist, we can fertilize it, we can hoe it, and we can remove the weeds. It is much the same in the spiritual order. We can remove the things in our lives in order that we can receive the Seed of God, that is, the Word of God, and allow it to bear abundant fruit in our lives, in our world!

What can we do now to be good soil?

Total surrender is key in making ourselves good receptors of the Word! In total surrender, we know that there is nothing we can do to undo the past. Also, we know that worrying about the future will not help! We know that the present moment is where we can receive and be changed by the Word of God! When we do this we can become wonderful receptors of the Divine Word, It can take root, and if we stay in the present moments, we can produce abundantly!

Please let go and know that God is in control!

We Are Important!

We Are Loved!

“Fear not, therefore; you are of more value than many sparrows.”
Matthew 10:31

Jesus reminds us of how much we are important to God. It is important that we are reminded of this often because that may not me the message we have to deal with in self talk, or in the relationships that we have with the people we encounter on the daily basis.

Jesus lived a life that tells us that we are valuable! Our value is not based on what we have done, or how much we have, but simply because we are!

Wow!

If we truly believed that we are valuable because we are, how would that change how we approach life? Perhaps we would take better care of ourselves. Maybe we would not have to self medicate ourselves with alcohol, or drugs, or anything else we use to make ourselves feel better about ourselves!

An ouch moment!

What if we read about Jesus’ messages as much as we follow our heroes in the world, would not our lives be changed!?

My friend, God joined us in Jesus Christ Our Lord to tell us of our true worth. May we not fear but trust and become the wonderful people we were created to be!

The Divine Presence Is Available!

Receive God’s Spirit!

Change Your World!

Jesus said to them, “Peace be with you. As the Father has sent me, even so I send you.”

And when He had said this, He breathed on them, and said to them, “Receive the Holy Spirit. “

John 20: 21-22

Today brings Eastertide to a close. We close with the receiving of the Holy Spirit, the Spirit of the Divine! With this Divine Presence we can continue the Way of Love and Peace that the Divine Presence entered into our world in Jesus Christ Our Lord.

God the Father sent God the Son, in Jesus, to live among us and show us by word and deed what Divine Living is all about, Total Trust in God! Trust includes the choice of love even in times of hate.

We are to be other Christs!

Jesus was conceived in the womb of Mary, we as other Christs, we were conceived at Pentecost when the Divine Spirit came in power and entered us!

However, there is a great challenge for us here!

Do not block the Divine Spirit!

Jesus did not hate anyone! Remember on the Cross when He was falsely accused, scourged and carried His instrument of execution, He said;

“Forgive them, for they do not know what they are doing.”

Luke 23: 34

Hate blocks the Divine Presence!

May we be vessels of the Divine Presence, may we experience Pentecost always, and be the change in the world that Love brings!

Again, Happy Pentecost Sunday!

Jesus Is With Us!

May We Recognize Him On Our Journey In Life!

While they were talking and discussing with one another, Jesus drew near and went with them.
Luke 24:15

They were not alone in their distress.

The Disciples of Jesus were returning to their old lives. They were defeated. They were on the road to Emmaus. Their hope was gone, Jesus! Their hope, the one they gave up their former lives to follow, Jesus, was nailed to the Cross, suffered death, and was buried. There was tremendous sadness! All hope for them died on that Cross!

Jesus was available to them!

Death was defeated, but these disciples did not know this. But this fact would be made available to them. They welcomed the stranger, but the stranger was the Lord. Their defeat was transformed into Victory on that road!

We are disciples today!

In our journey in life, there will be times when we feel defeated. There will be times that hope is lost. Trust, we have not been abandoned! May we be open to recognized Jesus who is there on our journey and allow Him to bring us Victory.

Happy Palm Sunday!

Love Still Wins!

And the crowds that went before Him and those that followed Him were shouting, “Hosanna to the Son of David! Blessed is He who comes in the name of the Lord! Hosanna in the highest!”
Matthew 21: 9

People can be fickle!

What a glorious scene of Jesus’ triumphant entry into Jerusalem! It is a scene that brings joy to the heart, and has been doing so for almost two thousand years! This day is celebrated with such pomp and circumstance throughout most of the world and the symbol of palms are brought back to the homes to remember how great a celebration of this day is.

Yet we know that this same week would end with the Lord Jesus being nailed to the Cross! How quickly people change!

However, one thing did not change, the Love that flowed out from Jesus remained constant though out, even to the end, as He said:

“Father, forgive them, for they know not what they do.”
Luke 23:34

Jesus had total trust in the Father! Jesus surrendered all to the Divine Will and Love!

Love Wins!

We know the end of the story! On the Eighth Day, that Sunday Most Glorious, Jesus Rose From The Dead! Hate loses!

Our Story and His Story!

We live in the world when people can be good to us or mean to us. But we have the model of Jesus to follow. If we live like Him, no matter what we have to go through, Love Wins! We will have the final Victory!

Happy Palm Sunday!
