Blessed Pentecost Sunday!
We have been together through this most sacred time beginning with Ash Wednesday and we are here at the end! We had 40 days of Lent and 50 days of Eastertide. I hope we have been a blessing for each other.
Today let us look at the outpouring of Love we celebrate with the God’s Spirit coming in power.
Suddenly the sound like blowing of a violent wind came from Heaven and filled the whole house where they were sitting.
Acts 2:4
This event, the great outpouring of Love, brought the gift necessary for the Church to exist. This is how we can explain the Apostles going into impossible situations and preaching the Gospel and people coming to faith in Jesus. God’s Spirit is behind this effort.
For our present time we have the example of a Religious Sister leaving her convent school in India and going to the streets to take care of the poor and start a worldwide movement of peace at love in action. We know her as St. Mother Teresa of Calcutta. Mother Teresa seems crazy if we are thinking like the World. But Mother knew, if God wants it God will provide for it. And that is exactly what God did!
May we be renewed by this same Spirit and help in renewing of our World!
