Happy Solemnity of Corpus Christi
This is My Body…this is My Blood.
Mark 14:22-24
We celebrate that Jesus left us food for the journey and His Real Presence available to us in the Blessed Sacrament of the Altar.
We need to celebrate too that this celebration comes from prayer and listening to Jesus from a Norbertine Nun, St. Juliana. In her prayer life she received a vision that we see below. This celebration that came from this vision, among many things, teaches us that we are loved and that we are blest! We need to celebrate this in a tangible way and this Feast does that. When we enter into the Mystery of the Eucharist, and allow its power to take effect, we live the Eucharist and we spread this love by how we treat people in a very concrete way. There is no space in our lives to be unkind!
St. Juliana was forced from her leadership position in her order, she remained faithful and after her death, her enemies lost and Jesus won the Victory. This vision of hers became a Holy Day of Obligation for Universal Church. We celebrate this Victory as we celebrate this Solemnly!
Moral of the story: have Total Trust! We may not see the results of the good that we do, but Jesus will always have the Final Victory!
Pax.
