We are all called to be saints today!
We have entered the last two months of the year, and these are marvelous months. For me, All Saints marks the Beginning of the Holiday Season. Of course, it is not only me who turn to joy at what these last days of the year bring, along with all of the preparations necessary to celebrate with our family and friends.
However, let us prepare our hearts for the real reason to celebrate this time of year: the coming of Our Lord in the Flesh!
Our Gospel Portion this Feast is a wonderful start to this special time we are entering. Our Gospel Portion is St. Matthew 5: 1-12, and we will concentrate on,
“Rejoice and be glad, for your reward is great in heaven, for so men persecuted the prophets who were before you.”
Matthew 5:12
Heaven is our eternal home, and it begins now with how we treat ourselves and how we treat others. Living kindness is key to all of our relationships. And the model of love that we are called to be is found in the Beatitudes that we read today for the Feast of All Saints. The more we live these teachings, the more we already live a heavenly life. We are doing the Will of the Lord!
Remember the Lord’s Prayer,
“…Thy Kingdom come on Earth as it is in Heaven.”
This is our obligation, and it transforms us and, through us, the world around us.
We are Kingdom People, and those we honor today lived as Kingdom People. We may never, on this side of eternity, know the names of these individuals, but someday we will be with them forever.
As we celebrate those already with the Lord today and those we will celebrate tomorrow on All Souls’ Day, we celebrate who we are and where we are going. Let these end months of 2026 lead us closer to Kingdom Living.
May we always remember that we must love ourselves and love the neighbor to genuinely love the Lord!
Love Wins!
